Kofi Tchouanga is a Cameroonian filmmaker based in Berlin. She began her journey in the film industry at a Berlin film school, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Film Production. After graduating, she co-founded a film production company with her business partner, Julian Damm, taking a leap of faith to pursue her passion for storytelling.

Focused primarily on documentary filmmaking, she works closely with communities to bring authentic voices and experiences to the screen. Over the years, she has directed and produced a variety of projects, including short films, documentaries, music videos, and campaign films.
Kofi is currently directing a feature-length documentary, set to be produced in Germany and Cameroon, continuing her mission to create films that connect people, cultures, and stories across borders.
Julian Damm

Julian Damm is a filmmaker based in Berlin. His passion for visual storytelling began at an early age through analog photography, where he developed a strong sensitivity for composition, light, and color. While working as a social worker in a youth housing program, he directed his first music video for one of the residents — an experience that sparked his decision to fully pursue filmmaking.
He co-founded HEMLE 35 with his business partner Kofi, dedicating himself primarily to documentary and short film work. His practice combines directing, cinematography, editing, and color grading, allowing him to shape projects from concept to final image with both technical precision and emotional depth. His films are driven by a careful, character-focused approach and a strong visual language.
Julian is currently working on two documentary films while continuing to develop short film projects. With a focus on authentic stories and cinematic imagery, he aims to create films that explore human experiences with sensitivity, honesty, and a distinctive visual style.
